32 ft of Mesh Guards and Splash Guards Over the Deck – Dartmouth Avenue
Avondale Estates, GA
Description
Urban Seamless Gutters ATL cleared the gutters on a two-story brick home and then dealt with the overflow coming off the upper roof onto the rear deck. We installed 32 feet of in-lock black mesh guard in four-foot sections, two black aluminum corner ports at the inside miters — one at the front entryway and one over the rear deck — and two splash guards along the deck run.
The Challenge
Water coming off the upper roof was overshooting the lower gutter above the rear deck instead of being carried to the downspout. A rear corner section had been dented, and the elbows on the upper rear downspout did not match the pitch of the lower roof, so the discharge onto that run was uneven.
Our Solution
After clearing the gutters we locked in-lock black mesh guard onto the gutter lip in four-foot sections along the lower runs, and set two corner ports at the inside miters to feed the downspouts while keeping the larger debris out. Two splash guards went in over the rear deck — a two-foot section on the left, and a longer run on the right carried from the outside miter through the inside miter to the adjacent side, where the heaviest overflow lands. We straightened the dented rear corner as far as it would come back and refit it with a refurbished guard of the same style, then swapped the upper rear downspout elbows for D elbows so the discharge follows the lower roof pitch.
